Scissor Cut

The Scissor Cut is another neat way to cut a deck of cards with one hand. This trick is not very easy and it might take some time to learn it correctly. Some people think that their hands are too small for this trick. If you start doing certain card tricks it might seem that your hands are really too small at the beginning. But the more you practice them the more your hands are able to be flexible.

Here are two tutorials that will help you learn the Scissor Cut flourish.

Tutorial 2

Here's how to do the Scissor Cut:

1. Hold the deck in dealing position. Have your first finger (pointer) on the end facing away from you. The fourth finger (pinky) should be on the short end opposite of the first finger.

2. Move your thumb so it is right next to the pinky, either on the left or right, depending on the hand that the deck is in.

3. With the back of your thumb, break off the top half of the deck.

4. Moving your thumb away from the pinky, the packet will pivot on the first finger.

5. STRETCH! All the way until the top packet clears the bottom. you can use your other fingers to move the bottom packet in the opposite direction if it helps.

6. Then move your thumb so the top packet is under the bottom packet, then put the two packets together again.

7. Square
